Built for the rain (and the tech)
Since these live outside, we wrapped them in IP-rated enclosures. Basically, rain and dust stay out, and the electricity stays in. The clever part is how they connect. We use high-current relays to handle the initial power surge so nothing pops. You can even link them to a temperature sensor. If your patio dips below 10°C, the heaters just kick in on their own. You don’t even have to think about it.
A quick heads-up on the wiring
Here is the thing: these units pull a lot of power. If you’re putting up a few of these on one circuit, don’t cut corners with the cabling. If the wires are too thin, you’ll get voltage drops. And please,**stay away from cheap smart switches.**They’ll fry almost immediately under this kind of load. If you’re running more than 3kW per zone, go with industrial-grade contactors. Your house will thank you.
