The battle against steam Here’s the thing about water vapor—it finds a way into everything. In a standard heater, it sneaks into the wiring, causes a short, or just eats away at the electrical contacts. To stop that, we sealed the whole chassis. It’s like a raincoat for the internals. But we didn’t stop at the wiring. We added an anti-fogging layer to the mirror. It’s not just so you can see your face; it’s about protecting the hardware. When a cold drop of water hits a scorching hot infrared tube, it causes “thermal shock.” Tiny micro-cracks form in the glass, and eventually, the tube just snaps. By keeping the surface dry, we keep the glass intact. Built to take a beating We didn’t want to worry about a stray spray of water ruining your morning. That’s why we pushed the IP ratings as high as possible. We tightened every seal, especially where the wires enter the unit, so the water stays outside where it belongs. We even swapped out the standard reflectors for corrosion-resistant alloys. If you live in a humid area or near the coast, you know how metal usually gets those ugly little pits and spots. This stuff doesn’t do that. One small catch There is a trade-off, though. When you seal a unit this tightly to keep water out, the heat gets trapped inside. It’s basic physics. Because there aren’t any big gaps for air to move, the internals can get pretty hot. Just make sure you leave a little bit of breathing room behind the heater when you mount it to the wall. If it’s pressed too tight, the safety cutoff might kick in and shut the unit down. At the end of the day, it’s simple: keep the water out and the glass dry, and the lamp keeps glowing.
