
Stop Throwing Away Your Patio Heaters
Most IP55 patio heaters are basically sealed boxes. That’s great for keeping out rain and dust, but it’s a total nightmare when something actually breaks. Imagine this: your heating element finally gives up after five years of hard work. Now, a technician has to decide. Do they scrap the whole chassis? Or do they spend three hours swearing at rusted screws and fighting with cramped wires just to fix one part? It’s a waste of time and money. We thought there had to be a better way. So, we built our infrared modules to be “drop-in” replacements. Instead of soldering the heating tube directly into the power rail, we used a modular carriage. Here’s the cool part: you can just slide the element right out. You don’t have to tear apart the weather-sealed enclosure, which means your IP55 protection stays exactly where it should be while you get straight to the part that needs fixing. Now, keeping things sealed tight does create a bit of a challenge. All that protection traps heat around the electrical junctions. To handle that, we used oversized terminals and high-temp ceramic insulators. But a quick tip: if you’re running these at full blast for hours, things get hot inside. Just make sure your mounting bracket has enough breathing room. If the air can’t move, your connectors might oxidize, and nobody wants that. Ten minutes. That’s all it takes. Swapping a tube shouldn’t feel like a major surgery. With this design, you just unplug the quick-connects, pop the tension spring, and slide in a new tube. No fancy tools, no stress. It turns a “major repair” into a simple routine swap. By treating the heating element like a replaceable cartridge, we stop the madness of tossing an entire heavy-duty housing just because one quartz tube burnt out.
